Course Description:

The Gothic lettering style that grace medieval manuscripts is enjoying a renaissance because of it’s distinctive beauty and versatility. The entire alphabet is comprised of only two major strokes. I teach in letter-families which enable you to be writing Gothic Calligraphy by the first class.

In addition to the course hand-outs, reference books, and sample Gothic calligraphy art I’ll be contacting you, via email, before our first class with examples and links to websites showing marvelous examples of exactly what we’re learning. Additionally, there are in-class projects that include bookmarks, greetings such as Happy Birthday, and addressing envelopes.

In just six classes upper and lower case, numbers, spacing, punctuation, and decorative elements will be introduced, demonstrated, and taught step by step, stroke by stroke whilst receiving my personal attention on every letter.

Class is ideal for beginners and improvers.
