Markham has an open living and work area of about 17x13'. The living area features a leather easy chair, a large art/writing desk, and a cozy wood burning stove. Visual artists are welcome to use the wall space to hang works in progress. Easels, tarps, and extra tables are available by request.
The kitchen area to one side has a table, cupboards, full sized oven and refrigerator. A separate bedroom has a queen-size bed, end table, and closet. The bathroom has a bath tub with shower, toilet and sink.
Markham Cottage has one window AC, WiFi, good cell phone reception, kitchen utensils, pots, pans, etc. and basic condiments. Appliances include a small portable electric heater, a stand-up fan, drip coffee maker, blender, and toaster.
Sheets, blankets, towels, and a starter supply of basic needs such as paper towels and toilet paper are provided.
Markham Cottage, facing west, has beautiful views of the Temecula Valley, surrounding mountains, and hills. It is named for Joann and Larry Markham who were generous and very instrumental in the re-building of Dorland. Markham has open space for artists and also serves writers with its large desk.
